What type of Kit do I need? (LOW BEAM,  HIGH BEAM or FOG LIGHTS?)

LOW BEAM Kit
Our low beam kit converts only the low beam of your vehicle to HID on all vehicles. This is the bulb typically used for normal driving. If your vehicle's low beam bulb is also your high beam bulb (bulb types H4, 9004, 9007, 9008 & H13) then your high beam bulb will be a halogen bulb integrated with the low beam bulb.

HIGH BEAM Kit
This kit will cover your high beams. This is the light you use to flash someone or see further down the road. If your vehicle has bulb type that your low beam and high beam are in the same bulb, then buy purchasing this kit you will be upgraded automatically to our Bi-xenon kit. This means by adding this kit, your kit is upgraded to our kit that will do both low and high within the same bulb.

FOG LIGHT Kit
This kit will convert your fog lights into HID as well. Please note, you must have the actual fog light housings already installed in your bumper, otherwise you cannot install this kit. This kit only replaces the bulbs with a HID kit, we don't sell the assembly.

What are the advantages of Digital HID Technology over traditional halogen bulbs?

More Light Output
A HID lamp produces up to 3x the lumens at the light source when compared to a 55-Watt halogen bulb.

More White Light
While the halogen light appears yellowish, the HID lighting system produces a light that is closer to that of natural sunlight.

Increased Visibility
In most night time driving & bad weather situations, this combination of a whiter color and a greater light output allows for a safer and more illuminated drive. For your fog lights you can install 3000K = Yellow for improved light in the fog.

Increased Product Life
HID lamp systems are designed to outlast your vehicle. On average these bulbs will last 3-5 times longer than a traditional halogen bulb.

Improved Vehicle Looks
Your vehicle will not only have the latest in automotive lighting technologies, but will also have that unique eye-catching appeal. Currently, only high-end vehicles offer this HID lighting system.

What is the difference between genuine HID lights and Xenon gas-filled bulbs?

High Intensity Discharge (HID) is a type of lighting technology that replaces the metal filament of the light bulb with Xenon gas. The gas is ignited to produce an arc of light, when high voltage is applied. The amount of light output is three times that of a standard halogen bulb. The bulbs also glow at a higher light temperature ( same as natural sunlight) that gives it its distinct color and appearance.

Many companies produce halogen bulbs that are gas-filled. They still have a filament as they are halogen technology, but the gas gives the bulb a bluer color when lit. Xenon-filled halogen bulbs produce little or no more light output then standard halogen bulbs of the same wattage. Most actually cause worse visiblity.

Please do not be fooled by xenon halogen type bulbs. As they offer little to no benifit! They also burn out faster!

How long will these kits last?

Our kits are designed to last up to 3000 hours of use. This is much longer than the life of a standard halogen bulb.

Can't I just purchase a stronger watt halogen bulb to get a brighter light?

Yes, you can increase your light output with higher wattage halogen bulbs. But here are the consequences:

  1. Burned out vehicle wiring
  2. Electrical issues
  3. Fire
  4. Reduced life span

For this reason we recommend either sticking with your factory bulbs or upgrading to our kit. There are no risks with HID.

Why can I not just replace the halogen bulb in my vehicle with HID bulbs without having to purchase the entire kit?

This is not possible. Regular halogen bulbs run at 12V. HID bulbs run at 23,000 Volts. HID bulbs must be powered by the ballast which takes that 12V and converts it to 23,000 Volts.

Can I Install the kit myself?

For anyone who is mechanically inclined or has ever changed their light bulbs before, this is easy. Consult your owner's manual or dealer on light bulb replacement. Some vehicles may require you to remove the front bumper to get access to the light bulbs. Others you may have to remove the headlights.

Can I revert back to stock bulbs at a later date?

With the increased popularity of leasing vehicles, a big concern is whether or not you can bring the vehicle back to its original factory condition. Our kits install with little or no modifications to your vehicle. The entire kit can be removed and the original halogen bulbs replaced very easily. This kit can be re-installed into another vehicle that uses the same bulb size. If you need additional bulbs you can purchase them from our accessories page.

Will I lose the ability to use my High beams if i replace the Low beam?

Never. Our kits will never cause your high beams not to function. If your vehicle uses bulb sizes H4, 9004, 9007, 9008 or H13, our bulbs contain an additional light bulb integrated that turns on if you go to high beam. This additional bulb is a halogen bulb and not HID.

Will DRL (daytime running lights) or Auto Switch On effect the kit?

For vehicles with DRL that use the same bulb for both DRL and low beam you will need to de-activate your DRL. DRL can be disabled by removing fuses or relays. Please consult this page for DRL removal methods. DRL operate on reduced wattage or fluctuating current levels. This will cause the HID system to flicker, not turn on and burn out prematurely. Please ensure that your OEM headlight harness is providing a constant 12V.

Vehicles with autoheadlights are usually OK, as long as the lights are not dimmed durning the day and are at full blast power. If your DRL is on a bulb your not changing, then it will not cause any problems.

Are these HID light systems street legal?

Every jurisdiction has its own rules and regulations governing the use of automotive lighting. HID lighting systems that are supplied with the vehicles from the factory are DOT approved.

NO HID conversion kit available from any source is DOT approved if installed outside of the factory. Moreover, in the U.S, this is not street legal for use on public roads. As a result, we officially endorse the kit for exhibition, shows and off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are not responsible for buyers who violate the terms of sale while in which they will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other than exhibition or off-road use.
