Mercury Topaz Xenon Headlights Topaz HID Kit Lights Conversion

The Mercury Topaz is a compact car that was manufactured by the Mercury union of Ford Motor Company as a considerably upscale variant of the Ford Tempo. It succeeded as the Fox body Mercury Zephyr and went on to be replaced by the 1995 Mercury Mystique. The Topaz was merchandized with standard 4-speed IB4 manual transmission and optional 3-speed FLC automatic. In the late 1985 topaz came up with a 5-speed MTX-III manual that became standard and the 4-speed IB4 was discontinued. Topaz FWD was launched with a difference in its interior space that was much larger than its earlier model with the rear-wheel-drive. Other pioneering concepts used were optional SRS airbags, a diesel engine option, the 20L Mazda Diesel I4 that is capable of over 30 miles per gallon over high way. It came with an assortment of classy and elegant design and features. Topaz got a new face-lift in 1986 with flush-mounted Xenon headlights and a non-functional light-bar grille. The Mercury Topaz received a standard all wheel drive system on the trim level: GS-ASD and LS-AWD. The AWD system was exclusively built up and engineered for the Topaz and was available for model years 1987-1991. The GS/LS models had an engine of 2.3L HSC I4 with 86 horse power that can run upto 73 miles on highway. The Topaz sedan was redesigned in 1988 with an improved interior and upscale exterior. The sedan was differentiated from 4-door by a more formal rear window along with a couple of waterfall grille, more upscale OME wheels, solid red coloured tail-lights and HID Kit. The sporty XR5 coupe and LTS “Luxury Touring Sedan” models with standard HSO engine and MTX-III transmission were also launched. The HSO I4 has a 2.3L HSO I4 engine with 100 horse power that is capable of running over 75 miles over highway. The topaz was later replaced in 1995 by European Ford Mondeo-based Mystique.
