Chevrolet Chevette was a subcompact sized car introduced in 1975 by Chevrolet. The car was available in 2 door and 4 door hatchback denominations. The model was only produced from 1975 to 1987 and had targeted a number of customers in such a short period of time. With inline 4 cylinder 1.4 liter and 1.8 liter denomination, the Chevette has the capability of producing as much as 70 horsepower. The model was available in 4 and 5 speed manual transmissions and 3 speed automatic transmissions. 4 speed manual transmissions was the standard in the model and was the mostly sold denomination in the category. Built in headlights are of round shape and but HID kits are also available to make them extraordinarily bright and beautiful. Similarly, Chevrolet Chevette xenon headlights are also available at street as well as online stores. The initial base price of the model was kept only at $4,995. Several changes have been made every year since the launch of the model. For example Chevette S was discontinued in 1987. Though there have been a number of successors to the model but to be true, no such car has completely replaced this subcompact model. In 1984, General Motors also started to import cars from various makes under the nameplate of Chevrolet.
