Isuzu motors and Honda as the parent companies manufactured the Acura SLX. It was manufactured from the year 1996 to 1999. The sales of this model were drastically increased when it was introduced in the market. The Acura MDX is its successor. This car is a mid size four door SUV. It is a four speed automatic car, with a front engine, four-wheeler and the rear wheel drive. This car was only sold in the United States. The Honda Odyssey and now Acura MDX first replaced Acura SLX. The Acura SLX xenon headlights picked up the award for the restyled of the front end in the year 1998. The Acura SLX HID kit looked elegant and made good sales. The Acura HID kit was later discontinued in the year 1998. The press played a major role in the sales of the car, changing the misconception of its rating as something, which is not acceptable by the consumer reports when the 1996 and 1997 models were tested. Isuzu filed a lawsuit against the consumer union. Later the court found out that the statements of the magazines had thoughtless disregard for the actual truth. This car is also called by many other names like Chevrolet trooper, Opel Monterey, Honda Horizon etc.
